IRVINE, Calif. --- The group of 11 PacWest men's basketball teams came together to nominate and vote upon the Preseason All-PacWest Team. They also voted on a poll to rank the PacWest teams on how they think the squads will finish at the end of the season, which was released on Tuesday.

The PacWest showed its respect for the Biola talent, putting the Eagles ranked No. 2 in the preseason poll. BU nabbed 131 points in the coaches poll, coming up six points shy of the conference-favorite, Point Loma.

Following a season of incredible successes such as PacWest SoCal Pod Champions and a trip to the NCAA DII West Region Championship, the Eagles will bring back their whole 2020-2021 roster. Head coach Dave Holmquist also hit a career milestone last season, earning his 1,000th career victory to make him the fifth four-year college men's basketball coach to accomplish the feat.

Three reigning All-PacWest SoCal Pod award-winners headline the returners for Biola. Michael Bagatourian, Chris Rossow and Alex Wright will all play a key role in the 2021-2022 campaign for Biola.

Bagatourian was named to the Preseason All-PacWest team on Tuesday. The senior posted 16.4 points and 5.6 rebounds per game last season from the guard position. Bagatourian offered his best performance against Azusa Pacific on February 12, recording 31 points on 10-of-21 shooting from the field and four three-pointers.

All-around talent Wright also made the Preseason All-PacWest team, following a spectacular 2020-21 season. The guard led the Eagles in points, rebounds, three-pointers and minutes played, while collecting four double-doubles on the year. Entering the upcoming season, Wright sits at 818 career points nearing the 1,000 career points club.

Biola will begin its campaign with an exhibition at Long Beach State on Friday, November 5.
