BUENOS AIRES, Argentina --- Coming off a memorable run to the championship game at its first PacWest Tournament, Biola Men's Basketball has signed 6-8 forward Maximo Milovich to add additional length and scoring touch to the roster. 

A native of Argentina, Milovich followed in the steps of his father Gabriel, a longtime professional basketball player, by playing for his national team at multiple international competitions over the years. The forward started his international experience with a championship at the U15 FIBA South American Cup four years ago and has been a regular contributor to the Argentinian U16 and U18 National Team since. 

Milovich led Argentina in rebounds during two games at the 2018 FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup hosted in his home country and averaged 6.7 points, 5.9 boards and 1.3 assists during the tournament. 

Pursuing a path to professional basketball became one of Milovich's biggest objectives as a result of his success in major competitions. He made a stop at Kiski School in Pennsylvania and developed a reputation for showing toughness around the basket and being able to lead a fast break after pulling down a defensive board. And he's eager for the way his time at Biola University will also give him the experience and solid foundation he needs to pursue his goals.

"I chose Biola because I think that is the place that is going to prepare me the best for my future," said Milovich. "The fact that I am going to be in a good team surrounded by good people, studying something that I like and that I will always have time to connect with my faith excites me about going there."

Milovich intends to major in political science at Biola after graduating from Colegio Marín in San Isidro. He enjoys supporting the Club Atlético River Plate soccer team in Argentina and is also somewhat familiar with the Southern California area after spending time at the Veritas Training Academy in Santa Fe Springs last summer.
