Jesse Elrod comes to Biola after two successful seasons at Citrus.

June 20, 2019

PASADENA, Calif. --- Jesse Elrod doubles the amount of Eagles from Pasadena on the 2019-20 Biola Men's Basketball roster. Elrod and transfer guard Marquise Mosley both hail from Assistant Coach Julious Coleman's hometown.

Elrod, a 6-foot-9-inch power forward comes to Biola following a good high school career at Maranatha High School and two years at Citrus College.

He earned all-conference honors during his time with the Citrus Fighting Owls. Citrus went 52-12 overall during his two seasons in blue.

He played in 56 games over the last two seasons, earning 11 starts and averaging around 15 minutes-per-game. He averaged right around eight points-per-game and four rebounds-per-game during his time with the Owls.

"I thought Biola was the right fit for me personally, especially when I was being recruited by the coaching staff," said Elrod.

During his high school career Elrod earned two all-league second team honors and was named his school's most improved player. He helped Maranatha to a CIF Division 4A Championship and was a runner-up in the CIF Division 1A final.

He also played volleyball for the Minutemen, where he showed off his athleticism to earn All-CIF first team honors and a pair of all-league first team recognitions.

He plans to major in communication studies and hopes for a career working at ESPN as a sports analyst.

Outside of school and basketball Elrod enjoys going to the beach and playing frisbee golf.

Catch Elrod and his teammates when the season tips off in November. It will be the first season Biola Men's Basketball is eligible for the PacWest Conference Tournament and NCAA Division II Regional/National competition.
