BUENA VISTA, Colo. --- The average team height of this Biola Men's Basketball team continues to go up with the addition of 6-foot-5-inch guard Cade Carroll.

Carroll joins the Eagles after one season at NCAA Division II Colorado State University-Pueblo. Carroll logged over 500 minutes in 28 games played for the ThunderWolves.

He earned one start as a true freshman coming out of Buena Vista High School, which is just about 100 miles from the CSU-Pueblo campus. Carroll shot .427 from the floor during his freshman season, averaging 6.4 points-per-game, 3.8 rebounds-per-game and about half a steal and assist per game.

He played just under 20 minutes-per-game on average as a key part of Ralph Turner's rotation. Turner stepped down at the end of this season, which marked a new direction for the CSU-P program and allowed Carroll to commit to BU.

"I chose Biola because it gives me an incredible opportunity to not only grow as a basketball player but also as a person and in my faith," said Carroll. "The strong sense of community is something that really attracted me to Biola."

Prior to his time with the ThunderWolves, Carroll was a standout for Buena Vista High Schools. He was All-Colorado second team as a senior and an all-state honorable mention his junior season. He was also selected all-league first team three times and was the league player of the year his senior season.

He averaged 31 points-per-game his senior season, which led the state of Colorado and had him ranked 26th nationally. Carroll could score at will throughout his career with the Demons, putting up five games with 40 or more points. His 1,790 points had him second all-time on the BVHS scoring list. He topped the school's record book in career free throw percentage, making 87 percent of his shots from the line.

He plans to major in kinesiology with hopes of continuing his career in basketball and then becoming a personal trainer and owning his own gym.

He's got great leadership potential, captaining his high school team for three years. He is a stud student as well, finishing last season with a 3.7 GPA and graduating high school with honors.

Off the court, he enjoys cooking and spending time outdoors. He loves golf and playing other sports and is actively involved in Younglife ministries. He's been to Tanzania on mission and consistently volunteers.

Catch Carroll and the rest of the Eagles as they have their eyes set on a NCAA Regional berth in what should be their first year of full-fledged NCAA Division II membership.
