TULARE, Calif. --- Biola Men's Basketball will get three more years of one of its favorite families as Will Shannon commits to wear No. 4 for the Eagles this coming season, transferring to Biola as a sophomore after one year at Vanguard.

Shannon appeared in 17 games for the Lions last season, grooming for two years (redshirt freshman) under NAIA Championship-winning head coach, Rhett Soliday. He helped Vanguard to a winning record and middle of the pack finish in the Golden State Athletic Conference.

The 6-foot-2-inch guard made 40 percent of his shots from the field and was perfect from the free-throw line in limited minutes off the bench.

He will have three years of eligibility at Biola and will look to continue the legacy of great hooping and great character established by his older brother, Blake Shannon, Jr.

"I chose Biola because I have a family connection with the school, and I wanted the opportunity to learn business from a biblical standpoint," said Shannon. "Also, to compete and win with a great group of guys and coaching staff."

Before beginning his collegiate career at Vanguard, Shannon was a four-year varsity player and two-year captain at Mission Oak High School. He scored over 1,000 points in high school and earned all-league first team honors.

He will bolster a Biola lineup that will have great depth at every position and should take a big leap forward in 2018-19. Of course the games everyone's got circled on their calendar for this next year are the Azusa Pacific contests (home on Dec. 15, @ APU on Jan. 19).

Shannon will study accounting during his time at Biola and hopes for a career as an owner of multiple businesses. He is an excellent student, finishing his high school career with a 4.5 GPA as class valedictorian.
