HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo.— A California native is coming back to his home state to join the Eagles track and field program this fall. Robbie Gleeson is committed to compete and contribute to Head Coach Sean Henning's squad as soon as he steps on the track.
 
Gleeson is originally from Temecula where he attended Great Oak High School before he moved to Highlands Ranch, Colorado where he attended Mountain Vista High School for his senior year.
 
"Robbie will be a terrific addition to our program and the university. He loves the Lord and loves to run fast, two great qualities that will be fun to work with," said Henning. "He has a lot of natural talent and will continue to develop very well at the collegiate level. I think he will be one of many great cornerstones in our men's distance program as we prepare to make the transition to the NCAA Division II level."
 
Gleeson holds the sophomore record at Great Oak for the 3-mile with a time of 14:51 and his best mile was clocked in at 4:22. He was a three-year varsity member in track and a four-year varsity member in cross-country where he was also named team captain his sophomore year.
 
Gleeson was part of a Colorado state champion team during his time at Mountain Vista High School.
 
"I chose to go to this school because I wanted to be surrounded with like-minded people who value Christ as much as I do," said Gleeson. "I wanted to be coached by a coach who cares about the individual just as much as the team."
 
Gleeson received a scholar-athlete honor for his work in the classroom during high school, and he plans to major in kinesiology at Biola. He hopes to one day have a career in Chiropractic medicine.
