LAKE FOREST, Calif.—Miles Brubacher of El Toro High School and Saddleback College has committed to join Biola Track and Field in 2016-17. He plans to bring a winning attitude and leadership skills to help the team be successful in the coming years.
Â
"Miles will provide some much needed experience and consistency to our program," said Head Coach
Sean Henning. "Being a junior college transfer Miles has raced in big championships and knows how to race at the college level. Miles loves the Lord and has come to Biola for the right reasons. He will thrive here and I am looking forward to adding his ability to our squad this fall."
Â
Brubacher was a member of the Chargers' varsity cross-country and track team for one season where he posted times of 1:58 in the 800m, 4:32 in the 1600m and 10:01 in the 3200m.
Â
Brubacher had a stellar career at Saddleback College in his two years with the Gauchos. In his freshman season he was all-conference in cross-country, was a runner-up in the steeplechase at the conference meet and he qualified for state.
Â
During his sophomore season he was named team captain of the cross country team and was top-50 in the state. He was again the conference runner-up for the steeplechase.
Â
"I chose Biola because I felt God's calling to go there," said Brubacher. "Location is great, not too far from home and I love the academic and running program. I fit right in and have plenty of room to grow stronger spiritually and physically."
Â
Brubacher plans to major in kinesiology and hopes to become an athletic trainer and a coach.
