RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif. --- Crean Lutheran High School is often a strong feeding pool for Biola Track & Field and Cross Country, and Mandy Reyes becomes the latest addition from this great institution.
 
After four years with the Saints Reyes has committed to join Head Coach Sean Henning's program for the next four. Reyes is a polished distance runner that is coming off a fantastic high school season that saw her win the Academy League MVP award and individual cross country championship.
 
"Mandy is going to be a great fit for Biola and our program. She comes from a fantastic family, loves the Lord, and has been prepared very well to make the jump to collegiate distance running and have a lot of success," said Henning. "I'm excited to see how she develops and impacts our team over the next four years. Mandy is going to fit in tremendously with the ladies in our program, and I have no doubts she will thrive in her time here at Biola."
 
During her time competing at Crean Lutheran Reyes was a CIF qualifier in track and cross country and swept the team MVP awards in track and cross country in 2015. In addition to her aforementioned cross country championship Reyes is also an individual champion in the 2-mile event.
 
She led her team to four league championships in cross country and track championships in 2013 and 2014. The Saints' cross country program finished as high as seventh at the California State championships with Reyes on the team.
 
"I really enjoy the lively, Christ-centered community, and I also believe Biola is a place where I will be able to thrive and grow spiritually, academically and athletically," said Reyes.
 
Reyes is a four-time scholar-athlete and plans to study kinesiology when she enters the university in the fall. She hopes to work as an occupational therapist or physical therapist in the future.
 
Her family has a history of competing collegiately at private Christian schools. Her brother is on the swim team at Wheaton College.
