CHINO HILLS, Calif. --- Collin Hardy will be an all-around solid student-athlete for Head Coach
Sean Henning when he joins Biola Cross Country and Track & Field in the fall.
Â
Hardy ran varsity track and cross country all four of his years at Ontario Christian High School and captained both squads as a senior. In addition, he won the coach's award in both sports this past year.
Â
He will compete in cross country and track at Biola as a distance runner. In high school he ran the 1,600m and 3,200m and led his team to three consecutive CIF Finals appearances. He dropped two minutes and 45 seconds from his personal-best cross country time over the course of his high school career.
Â
Hardy is also a standout student as a member of the California Scholarship Federation and National Honors Society. He was also an eight-time scholar-athlete and is a Excalibur Card holder with his GPA above 4.0.
Â
Initially, Biola was not on the radar of Hardy when he was considering his options for higher education. However, one visit to the campus changed all that in a hurry.
Â
"As soon as I stepped on campus, I knew that this was the place for me," said Hardy. "After a few months of talking with my parents and with God everything seemed to be directing me towards Biola."
Â
Hardy plans to major in business management with hopes of entering a career in insurance with his father, Kevin.Â
