A Masterful Finish

Biola came close to a remarkable comeback, but a strong final few minutes sealed a win for TMC.

Kiara Clark and the Eagles spent the entire night trying to find a way around TMC's lead, and they fell just short.
Box Score SANTA CLARITA, Calif. --- Biola entered Bross Court with high hopes on Saturday night, hopes to follow up what was one of the team's best performances of the season, an 80-63 win over San Diego Christian on Tuesday night.

What happened instead was an assertion of power by the No. 9 Mustangs, an assertion of power that nearly ended with a thrilling upset by the Eagles, but instead ended as a 13-point win for TMC.

Although trailing by a wide margin throughout the game, Biola's offensive attack did not give up hope as it chipped away at The Master's lead, eventually getting as close as six points late in the fourth quarter.

The Mustangs made all the free throws and jump shots they needed to make down the stretch to score the final seven points of the contest and turn a relatively close game into a big loss for the Eagles.

Biola's late push was keyed by the team's two top scorers for the night, Adijat Adams (18) and Kiara Clark (12). The Eagles outscored The Master's 22-11 through the middle portion of the second half in order to bring a game that was a 49-28 blowout to just a 10-point difference.

Thirteen of Adams' points were scored during this stretch as she put the team on her back to get close to the second-place team in the Golden State Athletic Conference.

Although the effort ultimately fell short, due to TMC's masterful performance over the final minute and half, the Eagles showed great persistence, patience and offensive prowess on the court on Saturday night. They were able to take a game that seemed out of reach and make it a contest that had Mustang fans on the edge of their seat.

Biola's comeback attempt was fueled by fantastic shooting over the final 20 minutes as they more than doubled their shooting percentage and point totals from the first half.

Adams put up another double-double in the losing effort, grabbing 12 boards to give herself 13 total double-doubles on the season.

Unfortunately, the loss moves Biola to 6-14 (1-3 GSAC) on the season, but all is not lost as the Eagles sit in sixth place in the conference thanks to their win over SDCC.

They'll return to action by hosting the No. 21 and No. 12 teams in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics division I on Tuesday and Saturday of next week. They'll start with Hope International and conclude with Concordia.
