Orediggers Outduel Eagles

Sharpshooting from deep and a perfect record from the line lead to a Montana Tech win.

Box Score HELENA, Mont. --- The Eagles finished a tough Montana road trip with a loss to Montana Tech on Saturday night. BU trailed throughout most of the game, and looked out of sync in the 77-67 defeat.

Almost every statistical category was nearly identical all the way across the board, proving just how even the raw talent on the two squads was, but the Eagles fell just short in shooting percentage, especially beyond the arc, which eventually led to the 10 point differential.

The Orediggers made all of their nine free throw attempts, while BU missed seven of their 18 tries from the line.

Andre Murillo put in a classic performance for the Eagles, but it was not enough to help the team out of the hole that was dug when they found themselves down by seven at the half.

The senior forward led the team with 16 points, and also tacked on five boards to help BU to 30 rebounds, just one shy of Montana Tech's 31.

Pierre Zook, Dakari Archer and Mike Kurtz also all scored in double digits for the Eagles, picking up 14, 10 and 10 points, respectively. In his first season with the team Zook has scored 10 or more points in every game except one. The one game he didn't reach 10, he scored nine.

The Orediggers had three players with 15-plus points as they picked up their third win of the season and dropped BU to 1-3.

The Eagles come home to take on Pomona-Pitzer on Tuesday night at 7:30 pm.
