LA MIRADA, Calif. --- In addition to the women's squad winning its second consecutive Golden State Athletic Conference championship, Biola Cross Country runners cleaned up when the GSAC postseason awards were released.
 
Between the two squads, the Eagles took home 16 different postseason honors for athletic achievement, academic achievement and coaching. Head Coach Jonathan Zimmerman was named women's cross country coach of the year after leading Kellian Hunt, women's conference champion, and the team to a No. 3 national ranking and GSAC championship run.
 
Hunt, along with Lyndee Dawson, Anika Gasner, Chelsea Janzen and Carrie Soholt, was named to the All-GSAC squad after top-14 finished in the conference race. With Hunt and Janzen up to two All-GSAC nods a piece, that contingent has seven total honors over the last two seasons
 
Danny Ledesma and Kevin Horchler both earned All-GSAC on the men's side, and Ledesma's run earned him a spot in the NAIA national meet later this month. Horchler's award is his first all-conference honor, while Ladesma has claimed one in each of the past three seasons.
 
In addition to the All-GSAC achievements, Biola's cross country teams continue to be among the best in the conference in the classroom. Biola claimed four GSAC Scholar Athlete awards in the men and women's division. Their eight combined honors gave them the highest total in the conference.
 
Men's Scholar Athletes: Collin Christensen, Andrew Daedler, Mark Diaz, Andy Edmondson
 
Women's Scholar Athletes: Chelsea Janzen, Kasey Schalich, Alexandra Sciarra, Carrie Soholt
 
Soholt and Janzen were two of just five athletes to win an All-GSAC award and be named a scholar athlete.
 
The women's squad and Ledesma next hit the ground running at the NAIA national championship in Lawrence, Kansas Nov. 23.
