Adijat Adams scored 13 points and
Lauren Gustafson added 11 as Biola cruised to a 72-58 non-conference victory over Chapman University on Thursday night at the Hutton Sports Center in Orange.
The Eagles improve to 17-9 with the win while dropping the Panthers to 12-11.
Biola had a solid shooting night overall, hitting 51% from the field including converting on 13-of-22 attempts (59.1%) in the second half.
Adams was 6-of-10 from the file and added six rebounds and a steal all in just 18 minutes of play while Gustafson 11 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals.
The Eagles' defense held strong again, allowing Chapman to hit just 36.5% from the field and to just 58 total points.
Biola got off to a fast start, opening up a 16-4 lead near the halfway point of the first half. Chapman would cut the lead down to seven and--despite a short run by the Eagles--trailed by just seven at the break at 30-23.
Chapman came out strong in the second half and cut the lead to four just over one minute in to the second half and again three minutes later. However, Biola maintained its composure and outscored the Panthers 22-8 over a six-minute span to break the game open and lead 68-48 with just over four minutes left.
The Eagles play their final home game of the regular-season on Saturday, traveling cross town to face Hope International University in a GSAC contest at 5:30 p.m.
