Zack Zaragoza scored 16 points and added 12 rebounds while
Jamie Ball added 15 points off the bench to lead Biola to a 75-50 win over La Sierra University in a non-conference game on Saturday in Riverside.
The Eagles improve to 3-0 to start the season while the Golden Eagles suffer a loss in their season opener.
Zaragoza had another strong showing for Biola, recording the first double-double of the year for the Eagles. He had three of his four made field goals from three-point range and added five points from the free throw line.
Ball also played well, matching Zaragoza's output from three-point grand and contributing seven rebounds to the cause in 22 minutes of action.
Biola jumped out to a 35-22 lead after the first half of play and stretch that lead to as many as 27 in the second half.
The defense for the Eagles was stellar, holding La Sierra to just 32.8 percent shooting in the contest. Biola did not allow a Golden Eagle player to reach double-figures in scoring and held the home team to just 3-of-16 from three-point range.
The Eagles return home to face Bethesda University--a small Christian school in Anaheim--for the first time ever, welcoming the Flames to Chase Gymnasium on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
