Jessilyn Conicelli added 14 as Biola controlled the entire game en route to a 68-46 victory over Fresno Pacific University in the GSAC Opener for both teams on Tuesday night at Chase Gymnasium.
The Eagles got their second-consecutive victory after starting the season 0-3, and improve to 2-3 overall, 1-0 in GSAC play. Fresno Pacific continues to struggle, falling to 1-5 overall and 0-1 in conference.
Reece was 7-of-11 from the field and added four assists and five boards to give her a season-high 18 points on the night. French's four threes helped clear the paint where Conicelli added eight rebounds to her double-digit scoring night.
The Eagles took a few minutes to get consistent but quickly took control and pulled away just before the end of the first half. Biola won pretty much every statistical category, shooting over 45 percent from the field in the game and out-rebounding 48-35.
Kerri Stephanoff proved to be a bright spot for the Sunbirds as she led all players in both points with 20 and rebounds with 9. Her sharp shooting kept the Eagles alert defensively before Biola pulled away.
Junior
Christina Barclay matched Connecelli's eight rebounds and had six points and a blocked shot.
Biola will put its two-game win streak on the line Saturday with another tough test, taking on No. 2 Vanguard in Costa Mesa at 5:30 p.m. The Eagles then return home to host No. 4 Point Loma Nazarene on Saturday (Dec. 12).
