IRVINE, Calif. --- Biola continued to struggle in conference road games, allowing a season-high 74 points in a 74-54 loss to Concordia University in a GSAC game on Saturday night in Irvine.

Biola, which was coming off an impressive win on Tuesday over No. 14 Westmont, falls to 12-5 with the loss and to 3-4 in conference play. Concordia snapped a three-game losing streak and improves to 13-4 on the season and 4-3 in the GSAC.

The story of the contest was the strong shooting performance by Concordia coupled with another subpar road shooting effort by Biola. Concordia hit an even 50 percent on the night (25-of-50) while holding Biola to just 36.2 percent (21-of-58).

The game got off to an auspicious start as Concordia opened the game with a pair of deep three-pointers. Concordia would lead by as many as nine in the early going before Biola closed the gap to two on a Schroeder layup which made it 19-17 with 7:09 to play before the half. Still leading by two at 23-21, Concordia went on a quick 9-0 run started by a three-pointer by Kingsley Costain and capped by a jumper by Phil Freisen. CUI would take a 35-23 lead to the half.

In the second half, Biola was unable to stop the Concordia attack and the home side stretched the lead to as many as 22, continuing to shoot well while Biola struggled to hit its shots.

Sophomore center Andrew Schroeder led Biola with 11 points in the losing effort while junior guard Danny Campbell, sophomore guard Nate Rakestraw and junior forward Rocky Hampton each added eight points.

Concordia was led by the 14 points of Tyler Gottstein with Cameron Gliddon adding 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Biola has not been shooting well away from home this season, especially in GSAC games. The Eagles have played four conference games away from home this year and are shooting just 36 percent while allowing their opponents to shoot 46 percent. It's no surprise that Biola is just 1-3 in those four games. Those numbers compare to Biola's season average of 45 percent shooting and 39 percent by its opponents.

Biola closes out its mini two-game road trip on Tuesday (Jan. 20), traveling to face The Master's College in a GSAC game at 7:30 p.m. in Santa Clarita.
