BOX SCORE

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. --- Biola's women's soccer team matched its win total from the entire 2007 season by picking up its third win in four matches, downing Oregon Tech 2-1 in the final match of the OIT Soccer Classic in Klamath Falls on Tuesday afternoon.

The Eagles improve to 3-1-0 on the season and while dropping the Owls to 1-3-0 overall.

Biola continued its offensive success through the first part of the season, outshooting Oregon Tech 21-7. The Eagles have now outshot their opposition 72-12 through the first four matches this year.

Biola got on the board first with a goal in the 16th minute as junior Natalie Wolf collected a loose ball in the box and fired it past the keeper.

Oregon Tech tied the score early in the second half as Katie O'Brien netted a goal in the 60th minute. But the Eagles responded with a go-ahead goal just seven minutes later. Sophomore defender Caitlin Peterson picked up her first goal of the season, lifting a shot from center about 23 yards.

Freshman Erin Frushon picked up her first career win in her first career start in goal, making four saves and allowing just one goal for the Eagles.

Biola has already shown vast signs of improvement from a 2007 campaign which saw it post a 3-11-2 overall record and not win a single game on the road. So far in 2008, the Eagles have matched that win total and picked up their first road since October 26, 2006.

Biola takes a bit of a break for the next three weeks, returning to action on Saturday, Sept. 27, hosting The Master's College to start GSAC play.
