BOX SCORE

FRESNO --- Biola shot just 29 percent in the second half, suffering its first loss of the season, falling 66-42 at Fresno Pacific on Tuesday night in its GSAC opener.

The Eagles fall to 3-1 on the regular season while the Sunbirds improve to 5-3 overall.

James Lewis Jr. poured in 24 points thanks to six three-pointers to lead the charge for Fresno Pacific, but it was the poor shooting of the Eagles which really cost them the game. Biola hung with the Sunbirds through the first 10 minutes of the game, trailing 20-19 with 7:24 remaining before the half. However, a quick nine-point run which included a pair of threes from Lewis Jr. Fresno Pacific would head to the half with a 32-22 lead.

Biola closed the gap to eight at 34-26 three minutes into the second half, but Fresno Pacific used a 12-2 run to stretch the lead to 18 and cruised the rest of the way. Biola shot just 29.2 percent in the second half, hitting just 7-of-24 shots from the field in the period.

The Eagles were led by the 13 points of Josh Miller, who added five rebounds and a blocked shot. Junior Rocky Hampton was the next leading scorer for Biola, recording six points and six boards in the losing effort.
