SANTA CLARITA, Calif. --- Biola University showed no letdown after its upset win on Wednesday, sweeping The Master's College 30-15, 30-21, 30-27 in a Golden State Athletic Conference match on Saturday night at Bross Gym in Santa Clarita.

The Eagles, ranked No. 4 in the latest NAIA National Poll, improve to 26-5 overall and 13-5 in GSAC play while the Mustangs fall to 12-17 overall and 3-14 in conference action.

Junior Meghan Warkentin had 13 kills to lead the Eagles with junior Jessica Buffum added nine kills.

Junior Kristen Peterson had nine blocks for Biola–the most by an Eagle player this season–to go along with seven kills.

Biola broke open a 10-10 tie in game one with an 11-1 run and cruised to an easy win. In the second game, the Eagles jumped out to a quick 16-3 and held off a late rally by the Mustang's for the win.

In the final game, The Master's opened with a 6-2 lead, but the Eagles rebounded with a 11-2 run to go up 13-8. Biola extended the lead to as many as six at 23-17 before settling for a 30-27.

The Eagles received 19 assists and an ace from each of their two setters, Christina Perkins and Abbie Wright with Wright adding 10 digs.

Rachel Roleder recorded 12 kills to lead The Master's.

Warkentin's 13 kills gives her 66 in three career matches against The Master's, a 7.33 kills per game average.

Biola begins the final week of the regular season with a huge match on Tuesday (Nov. 6) at arch-rival and No. 5-ranked Azusa Pacific University at 7:00 p.m.
