Emily Silzel led Biola to a combined score championship at the Bay Area weekend on Oct. 27 and swam very well at the Bay Area double dual meet the day before to earn this week's Athlete of the Week honors.
Silzel swam the 100-, 200- and 500-freestyle on the first day of competition, placing second, first and second in her individual events. She also led-off with a :54.86 to help the Eagles' 400-freestyle relay team take second in the competition.
Then, on Saturday, she accounted for 130 of Biola's points with her individual and relay swims. She helped Biola to second-place finishes in the 400-medley relay and the 800-freestyle relay. She also had individual second-place finishes in the 100-freestyle and 100-breaststroke and added top-10 marks in the 100-butterfly and 400-IM.
The Eagles continue their season with a big rivalry showdown at Azusa Pacific this week on Saturday, Nov. 3.
