Reba DePriest had one of her best, if not the best, weeks in her two seasons as an Eagle over the past seven days. She helped Biola to a 5-1 record, which pushed BU to a 26-10 overall mark for this 2015 campaign.
The Eagles' ace took on that full responsibility during this week, hurling 22.1 innings, winning four games, recording 36 strikeouts and not allowing a single earned run. She's currently riding a streak of 23.1 innings straight without an ER.
The biggest moment of the week is when she had back-to-back complete game shutouts in her outings in the first games against Arizona Christian and No. 8 CSU San Marcos. DePriest struckout 23 batters in those two games and walked just four, allowing just 10 base runners over the course of the 14 innings for a sub-1.00 WHIP.
The No. 16 Eagles are firing on all cylinders headed into the final stretch of Golden State Athletic Conference play and now sit just two games back from No. 3 Concordia and No. 12 Vanguard for first place in the conference.
DePriest will be critical down the stretch and will need to continue to All-American performance she's had to this point, leading the NAIA in wins (16) and strikeouts (183) and ranking fifth in the nation in innings pitched (127).
She and Biola have a break from GSAC play for this Easter week, playing just a doubleheader at NCAA DII Azusa Pacific on Thursday evening.
