Abner Rodriguez joined the Biola sports medicine staff in advance of the 2022-23 athletic season.
He received his BA in Biology from Point Loma in 2018 and completed his MS in Athletic Training from Point Loma in 2022. Abner attended Bacone College his freshman year where he played one season for the baseball team. He transferred to PLNU the next year and played rugby from 2015-2017.
Abner's athletic training work experience began when he was an athletic training student intern at Ohlone College in 2019 where he worked with baseball, softball, and women’s basketball. Then Abner began his graduate program in summer of 2020 where he started working with SDSU football for the Fall and Winter seasons. In the Spring of 2021, he worked with the SDSU baseball team. The next academic year (2021-22) he primarily worked with the UCSD women’s basketball team, but also helped with other sports like baseball, fencing, football, golf, track and field, rowing, rugby, softball, swimming, tennis, volleyball, and water polo.

Before joining the Biola staff in summer of 2022, Abner passed his BOC and worked two Surf Cup tournaments.
Abner enjoys giving back to others, educating student-athletes about their bodies, and learning about different cultures.Â
