COLLEGESWIMMING PROFILE


2019-20
• Competed in all 12 events for Biola throughout the season
• Recorded personal-bests in the 1,650-freestyle (17:42.52) and 400-IM (4:33.23) at the PCSC Championships
• She had a top-5 finish at the conference meet, placing fifth overall in the 400-IM
• Had three different top-10 finishes the La Verne Collegiate Winter Invite, setting personal-bests or season-bests in all events
• Helped the team to a program-best third-place finish at the PCSC Championships

HIGH SCHOOL
• Prepped at Portage Central High School in Portage, Mich., graduating in 2019
• Part of a 400-freestyle relay team that broke the conference record and won the state meet (3:31.51)
• Earned all-conference and all-state honors
• Part of the National Society of High School Scholars and an IB student
• Swam nine seasons of club with South West Y Michigan in Kalamazoo
• Won a state championship in the long course 400 IM with her club team

• Born May 15, 2001 to Mark and Kristin Vermeulen
• Thinking of majoring in public relations or marketing
• Enjoys hammocking and drawing

• Why I Chose Biola: "When I first stepped onto the campus the students welcomed me with open arms. Getting to know the swim team just made the atmosphere feel like home. Everyone was so caring asking me questions about myself and home. The campus is so beautiful I could not wait to call it home."
