• Swam mostly freestyle and butterfly events this season
• Competed in the 500-freestyle, 100-butterfly, and the 200-butterfly at the PCSC Conference Championships
• Finished 1st in the 200-butterfly at the conference meet, setting his personal best time of the season (1:55.03)
• Also, finished top-10 at his other two events at the conference meet and in the 500-freestyle he set his season best time of 4:48.57
• Recorded 16 top-3 finishes in his first season as an Eagle
HIGH SCHOOL
• Prepped four varsity seasons at Warren HS in Downey, Calif., graduating in 2018
• Recorded record-breaking times for the San Gabriel Valley League in the 200 free and 500 free
• Earned a second-place finish in the 500 free at CIF three separate times
• Qualified for the CIF finals for the 200 free three times
• Named most valuable swimmer at Warren three times
• Also played water polo and swam six years for the La Mirada Armada
PERSONAL
• Born Oct. 15, 2000 to Margot and Julio Villa
• Has two younger siblings (Julian and Joshua)
• He enjoys drawing, spending time with family and going to the beach
• Majoring in biological science with the intention of working with animals as a field biologist
• Favorite Bible Verse: 1 Peter 3:3-4
• Why I chose Biola: "I chose Biola because I wanted to attend a college that I was going to make me feel comfortable and happy each time I stepped foot on campus. I have already met some of the swim team and I could tell that I am going to love it here. They're all very friendly. I also wanted to make sure that I can swim and study what I love."
