LA MIRADA --- The Biola volleyball team earned two PacWest Conference weekly awards following a perfect week that featured three-consecutive sweeps.
The Eagles were named the PacWest Team of the Week, while
Haylee LaFontaine was selected as the conference's Player of the Week.

Brian Failinger. "We're so thankful for how the Lord has blessed the hard work these girls have put in, and are so excited to watch them keep pursuing their potential as the season continues."
Biola went 3-0 last week with straight-set wins over Point Loma, Dominican and Jessup. The Eagles opened the week with a 3-0 victory over defending PacWest Champion and NCAA semifinalist Point Loma before picking up a pair of road sweeps against Dominican and Jessup.
The three victories extended Biola's winning streak to seven matches, with all seven wins coming in straight sets. The Eagles have not dropped a set since Aug. 28 and improved to 8-2 overall and 3-0 in PacWest play.
The Eagles put together a strong week on both offense and defense, hitting .285 as a team while holding their opponents to a .162 hitting percentage. BU also recorded 26 service aces compared to just three from its opponents.
LaFontaine helped lead Biola's offense in the three victories, totaling 31 kills over nine sets. The redshirt sophomore averaged 3.44 kills per set and finished the week with a .293 hitting percentage. LaFontaine recorded 14 kills in Biola's sweep of Dominican and added 10 kills while hitting .333 against Point Loma.
