LA MIRADA---The Biola men's tennis team swept the PacWest's Conference's weekly awards for their stellar performances throughout the last two weeks.
Alejandro Flores Monteverde was the PacWest Player of the Week and Biola Men's Tennis won PacWest Team of the Week.
The Eagles went 2-0 in the last two weeks. They defeated Hawaii Pacific 4-3 in O'ahu for the first time in program history and took down Point Loma 6-1 last Saturday at the Biola Tennis Center.
Flores Monteverde won both his singles matches last week from the second court and one doubles match. At Hawaii Pacific he clinched the match for Biola with his three-set victory. He lost his first set against HPU's Ethan Terry 4-6 and came back to win the next two 7-5, 6-3. He also beat PLNU's David Fisinger in three sets. He lost his first set against Fisinger 5-7 and again bounced back to win the last two 6-2, 6-1.
The men's tennis team plays next on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 3:30 p.m. at the Biola Tennis Center.
