PROVIDENCE, R.I. --- Two games. Two different campuses. Two Biola victories.
Hours after surviving an 11-10 thriller over MIT at Harvard's Blodgett Pool, Biola Men's Water Polo made the trip to Providence, Rhode Island and produced a much more comfortable finish, defeating Connecticut College 23-8 at Brown University's Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center.
The sweep pushed the Eagles to 10-13 and extended their winning streak to four games as Biola continues to work its way back toward the .500 mark with the most consequential stretch of the season approaching.
Saturday's second game also produced a piece of program history.
Noah Ryznar scored five goals, raising his season total to 80 and establishing a new Biola single-season record. Ryznar entered the contest with 75 after scoring twice against MIT earlier in the day, then surpassed the previous record of 76 set by Maxwell Osborn during Biola's 2023 WWPA championship season.
Ryznar helped Biola establish control quickly against Connecticut. The Eagles scored five times in the first quarter and five more in the second to build a 10-2 halftime advantage. Biola added four in the third before exploding for nine fourth-quarter goals, its highest-scoring period of the afternoon.
The offense was hardly a one-man operation.
Ryan Previch and Aiden Ortiz each recorded hat tricks, with Previch adding an assist and Ortiz contributing four steals. Kevin Slack scored three times, while Landon Heuer, Ryder Imbriani and Carson Crocket each added two goals.
Biola also generated offense through its distribution. Kyle Seifen handed out a team-high three assists, while Jake Burns, Isaac Demski, Imbriani and Micah Hernandez each recorded two. The Eagles converted 23 of their 41 shots, a .561 shooting percentage.
Igor Pinheiro handled the majority of the work in goal and made seven saves in 22 minutes while also contributing two assists.Â
The next two opportunities come Sunday in Providence, with Biola facing Salem at 8:30 a.m. ET and LIU at 2:30 p.m. ET to close the Harvard Invitational.
After that, the schedule turns squarely toward the stretch run. Biola returns home Thursday, Oct. 22, for a matchup with No. 20 Concordia.
