LA MIRADA---The Biola women's soccer team earned two of the PacWest Conference's three weekly awards for their great performances last week against SF State, Cal Poly Humboldt and CSUSB.

Marije Rechin was awarded PacWest Player of the Week and the Eagles were the PacWest's Team of the Week. 

The Biola women's soccer team ended last week with a 2-0-1 overall record. The Eagles took home wins against SF State (2-1) and Cal Poly Humboldt (1-0) and had a 2-2 tie against Cal State Bernardino.

"I am extremely thankful for the resilience and grit my team showed over our rigorous travel schedule this past week," stated head coach Brett Croft. "We are in the early stages of the season, every game presents new challenges and times of adversity. I am confident that through the highs and lows of the season, my group will stay unified, and always fight until the final whistle blows."

Rechin contributed to the Eagles' scoring in all three matches played last week, totaling five points from one goal and three assists. Rechin scored a goal and had an assist in Biola's 2-1 win over SF State, assisted BU's goal in their 1-0 win against Cal Poly Humboldt and had an assist in their 2-2 tie to the Yotes.

"Since my arrival at Biola, Mimi has been a foundational piece both on and off of the field," shared Croft. "Mimi is a versatile, athletic, selfless player who can play on both sides of the ball. Alongside her God given ability, Mimi is a Christ-centered and others-focused leader, who always puts her teammates' needs above her own."
