Eagles Falter After Halftime

The Biola men’s soccer team suffered a tough 2-1 loss to Regis University on Thursday night at Al Barbour Field.

LA MIRADA---The Biola men's soccer team suffered a tough 2-1 loss to Regis University on Thursday night at Al Barbour Field.

Biola grabbed an early lead thanks to a goal by Luca McGreevey Couchman in the 15th minute (1-0). 

The Eagles continued pressing, Kyle Denn and Jackson Finn forced saves from the Regis goalkeeper in the 23rd and 31st minutes.

Toward the end of the first half, Francesco Tricarico had a huge save that allowed BU to hold the advantage heading into the halftime break.

Relentless second-half pressure from Regis proved costly for Biola. The Rangers forced Biola into making an own goal in the 87th minute that tied up the match and then scored the game-winner in the 89th minute.

Biola will regroup and get ready to play again at home on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. against Colorado School of Mines.
