Leon SCholar-athlete of the year

Dual Threat

Isaiah Leon was named the PacWest Baseball Scholar-Athlete of the Year for his work on and off the diamond.

June 18, 2025

IRVINE, Calif. --- The best student-athletes for both sport and academics were honored by the conference offices on Wednesday afternoon. Isaiah Leon was recognized as the PacWest Baseball Scholar-Athlete of the Year, embodying the ideal holistic student-athlete with incredible success.

"Isaiah is the perfect representative of what a student-athlete should be: tireless worker, great teammate, and consistent performer in all areas of his life," commented Biola Baseball Head Coach Jesse Rodgers. "I'm really proud of Isaiah and humbled to be able to coach him. He is more than deserving of this award."

Leon was a top-notch student-athlete well before arriving at Biola. The outfielder was a standout player at MidAmerica Christian, garnering athletic and academic accolades, while graduating with a 4.0 grade-point average.

He then made the jump to Biola to begin a master's degree in 2023 and picked up right where he left off. Leon completed his second year in graduate school with a 3.97 GPA, while being recognized as a CSC Academic All-District and Academic All-PacWest selection for both seasons.

On the diamond Leon was a consistent contributor and made the step up to stardom in 2025. A final year of play made for a special one, as Leon was a staple near the top of the lineup slashing, .385/.482/.603. He made his way to First Team All-PacWest and Second Team All-Region nods.

15 student-athletes across the PacWest were honored as Scholar-Athletes of the Year. Leon was the ninth such award-winner for Biola since transitioning to Division II and the second for the BU baseball program.

Leon will now move to the next stage, as the athletics directors across the conference will vote for the overall male and female scholar-athlete of the year.
