VISTA, Calif. --- Biola Women's Water Polo cruised to a comfortable 3-0 week, as the defense dominated against WWPA foes. Lizzy Birch led the strong press, grabbing a WWPA Defensive Player of the Week honor, as announced on Wednesday.

The senior was electric in the pool, doing it all for BU last week. She totaled 13 steals to go along with eight goals and two assists. Birch lit up the stat sheet with seven steals in the week's finale against UC Merced. 

Birch and the Eagles showed their strength defensively, posting their three-best performances all season. Biola gave up its three lowest goal totals of the year, allowing just six goals to CSUMB, four to FPU, and three to UC Merced.

She added to the offense with eight goals and two assists, while reaching a career milestone of 100 career goals on Saturday.

Biola will return to action on Wednesday evening, facing Pomona Pitzer on the road at 5:00 pm.
