HONOLULU, Hawaii---The Biola softball team closed their three-game series against Chaminade with a 7-3 victory at Silversword Field.

The Eagles made their way onto the scoreboard first. In the third inning, Kendall Nakano clutched up with a double to left center that scored Ibarra from second.

After a scoreless fourth, Biola broke away in the fifth. The Eagles scored six runs from seven hits and two Chaminade errors. Ibarra, Alexa Medley, Bridgette Trujillo, Makayla Jordan, Mikala Huskey, Kennadie Tsue and Ariana Banos supplied hits in the fifth inning.

The Silverswords rallied in the bottom of the seventh but it wouldn't be enough to overcome the Eagles. Chaminade managed to score three runs, but would be shut down by Raquel Reyes who pitched the last two outs and stranded three runners on base.

Three Eagles batted .500 or above. Ibarra led BU in the batter's box, going 3-for-4. Huskey and Tsue batted .500 against the Silverswords.

DJ Symons started the game in the circle for Biola and threw 6.1 innings. Symons allowed the Silverswords six hits and three runs to score while striking out seven. Kayla Bousquette threw to three batters in the bottom of the seventh and then Reyes came in to close the game.

The Eagles improved to 30-15 overall and 22-5 in the PacWest Conference. Biola will travel to the Big Island to play Hawaii Hilo next. The Eagles and Vulcans face off on Friday, April 11th at 3 and 5:30 p.m. PT.
