Box Score HILO, Hawaii --- Biola (31-15, 23-5 PacWest) continued a highly successful Hawaii trip with the opener of a series against Hawaii Hilo (21-20, 15-13 PacWest). Game one of Friday's doubleheader saw the Eagles take down the Vulcans in 4-1 fashion, extending their winning streak to eight.

The Biola offense took a gradual approach to game one, scoring one run an inning through four frames.

Kendall Nakano brought the spark in the opening inning. The first baseman left the park for a solo blast, giving the Eagles a 1-0 lead.

The Vulcans responded with one in the bottom of the first but the Eagles kept inching forward.

In the second, the Eagles rallied with two outs tacking on another run with a pair of hits. Makayla Jordan brought home a third run for BU in the third with a two-out RBI double.

The fourth inning saw a big opportunity for the Biola offense. The team loaded the bases with one out and Bridgette Trujillo logged the RBI base hit, moving everyone station-to-station for a 4-1 Biola advantage. The rally would stop there though, as two outs followed to end the frame.

DJ Symons guided the team from the circle and delivered for her 15th win of the season. The lefty gave up just two hits throughout the seven inning contest, as she logged her 10th complete game.

Nakano shined in the lineup, offering a multi-hit effort with two hits in three at bats with a walk.

Game two will be underway in Hilo, Hawaii just after 5:00 pm PT on Friday.
