The Biola track & field teams had a successful Saturday, finishing the Mike Fanelli Track Classic, Stanford Invitational and Triton Invitational.

LA MIRADA---The Biola track & field teams had a successful Saturday, finishing the Mike Fanelli Track Classic, Stanford Invitational and Triton Invitational.

Triton Invitational
Hope Willis had a day to remember in the women's discus. The Freshman's discus throw of 46.17m was a personal best, a school record and a NCAA Provisional mark. Her mark of 46.17m is the fourth best in the PacWest Conference and ranks her 21st in Division II. Willis led Biola in the women's discus with a fifth place finish.

Five other athletes achieved personal bests at the Triton Invitational including Aidan Erickson in the men's pole vault (4.40m), Shelby Rutledge in the men's 800m run (2:01.24), Joley Sproul in the women's 100m hurdles (14.97), Jaden Murray in the women's 400m dash (57.28) and Ariana Quintana in the women's 400 (58.4). 

Biola's event leaders were Willis in the discus, Laura Brennan in the women's shot put (16th, 11.78m), Marco Smith in the men's long jump (28th, 6.40m), Erickson in the men's pole vault (14th), Autumn Murray in the women's long jump (15th, 5.34m), Rutledge in the men's 800 (61st), Sproul in the women's 100m hurdles (17th), Jaden Murray in the women's 400m dash (18th), Quinn Shavey in the men's 400 (34th, 50.48), Kailey Centers in the women's 100m dash (35th, 12.56) and Dominic Castro in the men's 100 (45th, 11.29).

Mike Fanelli Track Classic
Bethany Mapes had a weekend to remember, setting two school records at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic. Yesterday she broke her own school record in the 5000m and today set the school record in the mile. Mapes won the event with her personal best and record breaking time of 4:53.82.

Biola's men had two runners finish in the top 10 in the mile. Aidan Tomasini led BU with his sixth place finish and time of 4:13.97. Jan Kuncicky placed ninth of 75 runners with a time of 4:25.15.

Ella Voris led BU's women in the 800m run with a time of 2:19.95. 

Ben Sonneland crossed the finish line first for the men in the 800 with his time of 1:56.46. Additionally, Jake Sorani earned a personal best time of 1:57.49 in the 800.

Stanford Invitational
Maggie Williams had a standout performance in the women's 800m run. The Junior placed second in the sixth heat of the 800 with a personal best and NCAA Provisional time of 2:08.19. Williams has the second fastest time in the PacWest and 10th best in DII.

Ebose Omofoma competed in the finals of the 100m hurdles. The Freshman crossed the finish line fifth in the event with a time of 14.10.

Joshua Widdows, Donovan Tommy, Tyler Poltl and Matthew Kaloustian represented Biola's men in the 4x100 relay and broke a school record in the event. The group secured a second place podium finish with their time of 41.00.
