HONOLULU, Hawaii---The Biola softball team got the job done against Hawaii Pacific, defeating the Sharks 3-1 in the second game of the day's doubleheader.

Biola scored first, wasting no time to push across a run in the first inning. With two-outs Kendall Nakano clutched up with a double to extend the inning for BU. Raquel Reyes kept the rally going, singling to center which pushed Nakano to third base. Bridgette Trujillo then scored Nakano with an infield single (1-0).

After three scoreless innings, Hawaii Pacific tied up the game in the fifth (1-1). Neither team would be able to claim the lead in the sixth, but the Eagles would get it done in the seventh.

Jackie Ibarra had a lead-off single to get the seventh started for BU. Alexa Medley then executed a sacrifice bunt that put Ibarra in scoring position. Nakano walked, but Reyes would come up with the big hit that gave Biola the lead (2-1). Ibarra scored on Reyes' double and Nakano advanced to third.

Before all was said and done, Trujillo would send in one more run for the Eagles. Her sacrifice fly put Biola ahead 3-1.

Reyes started the game for Biola in the circle, only allowing HPU seven scattered hits and one run to score in six innings of work. Reyes also tossed four strikeouts. Kayla Bousquette closed the final inning, helping solidify the Eagles' victory with her 1-2-3 inning.

Biola and HPU face off for one more game tomorrow Saturday, April 5th at 2 p.m. PT at Sand Island Rec.
