IRVINE, Calif. --- James Whitman highlighted last week with incredible performances against Fresno Pacific. The junior lit up the opposition at the plate, on his way to a PacWest Player of the Week award.

A four-game series at Eagles Diamond wrapped up with 44 runs for Biola Baseball. The offense logged at least eight runs in each game, including 18 in a seven inning run-rule win over Fresno Pacific.

Whitman was a huge part of the attack, opening the series last week with a perfect, 5-5 showing at the plate. He aided the team's 18 runs by scoring each time he came to the dish. He was a triple away from the cycle in the contest, landing two homers, a double, and two singles.

The BU first baseman wrapped up the week with nine hits, four home runs, two doubles, and seven RBIs. Through four games he slashed .529/.588/1.352.

The four home runs has Whitman nearing the record book, as he needs one more to tie and two to take over the program record for career long balls in the NCAA DII era.

Biola has a weekend series coming up against Hawaii Hilo beginning on Friday at 12:00 pm.
