AZUSA, Calif.--- Joley Sproul shined in the heptathlon at the Bryan Clay Multis, placing third in the D group with a career best of 4797 points.
Sproul's score of 4797 was a NCAA Provisional mark and ranks her 16th-best in Division II and fourth-best in the PacWest Conference.
"Joley had a fantastic two days of competition," stated head coach Sean Henning. "She has worked extremely hard over the last four years."
Henning continued, "She had to deal with some adversity last year at the end of the year where she was unable to finish the season out. But she has shown tremendous resilience and determination, not to mention being a great leader in our program this past year. We are very happy for her and so grateful the Lord gifted her with the ability and opportunity to glorify him these last two days!"
Sproul earned podium finishes in four of the seven events. Her top performance came in the high jump, which she won with a mark of 1.61m. She also secured a second-place finish in the 800m run, recording a personal best time of 2:21.15. The Senior had two third place finishes, one in the shot put (11.05m) and the other in 100m hurdles (14.81). Her 100 hurdle time was another personal best.
Sproul also set personal bests in the long jump (5.25m, 6th) and 200m (26.50, 8th).
Additionally, the Senior finished seventh in the javelin with her throw of 25.70m.
Next up for the Biola track & field teams is the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational on Saturday, April 12th.
