Success on Senior Day

The Biola women’s tennis team celebrated their seniors with a 2-1 victory over Westmont College at the Biola Tennis Center.

LA MIRADA---The Biola women's tennis team celebrated their seniors with a 2-1 victory over  Westmont College at the Biola Tennis Center. 

The two seniors that Biola celebrated before the match were Alexandria Mann and Gaby Carvajal.

BU began the match by winning the doubles point. Alessia Radu and Kailee Mazzeo won the first set on the first court 6-4 and then Isabella Chavarria and Dafne Andres clinched the point with their 6-3 win on the second court.

Biola went on to win five of the six singles matches. Mazzeo was the first to finish, winning 6-1, 6-1 on the first court. Radu ended next, defeating her opponent 6-1, 6-1 as well.

Chavarria clinched the match with her 6-4, 6-1 takedown on the second court. 

Biola's final wins were by Dafne Andres and Alexis Romano. Andres outlasted her opponent in three sets. Andres split the first two 6-3, 0-6 and came back to win the 10-point tiebreaker 11-9. Romano recorded BU's last win on the sixth court (7-5, 6-2).

Next up for Biola is the PacWest Championships which begins Wednesday, April 16th in Surprise, Arizona.
