Senior Day Shutout

The Biola men’s tennis team shutout Westmont College 7-0 on senior day.

LA MIRADA---The Biola men's tennis team shutout Westmont College 7-0 on senior day.

The Eagles celebrated their two seniors, Patricio Larrea and Santino Serrallonga. Both Larrea and Serrallonga shined on senior day, picking up wins in doubles and singles.

Larrea and Serrallonga gave BU the advantage in doubles by winning the first set 6-1. Jules Zanarelli and Alejandro Flores Monteverde then clinched the point with their 6-4 win on the first court.

Flores Monteverde, Larrea, Zanarelli, Thiago Canessa, Serrallonga and Mateo Rivas recorded BU's singles wins. Flores Monteverde won 7-5, 7-5 on the first court. Larrea defeated his opponent 6-2, 6-2 on the second. Zanarelli was victorious on the third court with a score of 6-4, 6-4. Canessa recorded a 6-2, 6-1 triumph on the fourth court. Serrallonga won his first set 6-1 and then the second 7-4 in the tiebreak.

Rivas defeated his opponent 6-1, 7-5 on the sixth court.

Next up for the Biola is the PacWest Championships which begins Wednesday, April 16th in Surprise, Arizona.
