VISTA, Calif. --- The WWPA conference office handed out the weekly honors on Wednesday morning, recognizing Ava LoBue as the WWPA Defensive Player of the Week.

LoBue was a big part of Biola's win in its conference opener against Cal State Monterey Bay. The Eagles headed up north to play its WWPA foe on Saturday and won the fourth quarter for a 13-11 victory.

Every aspect of the game was impacted by the veteran LoBue. She dominated on defense with four steals and a field block against the Otters. The strong defensive showing was crucial, as Biola held CSUMB scoreless in the fourth quarter.

LoBue was active on both ends, leading the team on offense, as well. The attacker logged five points with three goals and two assists, while also drawing two exclusions. She tacked on a sprint victory to add to her stat-stuffing performance.

LoBue was the second Eagle named WWPA Defensive Player of the Week this year and the fourth to earn a WWPA weekly honor.

Biola is set for more WWPA play this weekend, facing Fresno Pacific on the road on Friday at 1:00 pm.
