VISTA, Calif. --- You cannot write a better script than the ending of Friday's water polo game for Biola. A game-winning buzzer-beating goal from Myah Ibarra put an exclamation point on the day and the accolades followed this week with Wednesday's announcement of Ibarra being named WWPA Player of the Week.

Ibarra and the Eagles had just one contest last week, hosting their home opener against NCAA Division I Saint Francis. A close-knit game went down to the wire, as the visitors tied the game in the final seconds. Ibarra added to an already stellar game with the winning goal to lead Biola to a 10-9 victory.

The sophomore first sparked the offense in the second quarter, tying the game at three with a fast break score. She helped BU score on the very next possession, drawing a five-meter penalty that pushed the Eagles ahead by one.

Ibarra finished the game with three goals and an assist to pace the BU attack.

Biola will kick off WWPA play in its next bout, facing Cal State Monterey Bay on the road on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
