LA MIRADA---The Biola softball team split their doubleheader with nationally-ranked No. 18 Northwest Nazarene at Freedom Field.

Game 2: Biola 3 NNU 0
The Eagles regrouped after their first game loss and went on to shutout Northwest Nazarene 3-0 in the second game of the evening.

Maddie Granados had a game to remember against the nationally-ranked Nighthawks. The Freshman recorded her first collegiate shutout and win in the circle. Granados was strategic on the mound, allowing eight sporadic hits in seven innings of work. She also recorded five strikeouts in what was a really great  performance.

Biola scored runs in the third and fifth innings. The Eagles scored two runs in the third inning. Bridgette Trujillo had a lead off single and eventually scored off a Nighthawk error. Jackie Ibarra also scored but thanks to Kennadie Tsue double.

BU scored one more run in the fifth. Tsue clutched up again, doubling to score Leilani Salgado who pinch ran for Cami Lara. Lara got on base due to a Nighthawk error.

Game 1: Biola 1 NNU 4
The first game got away from the Eagles as the Nighthawks scored single runs in the first, third, fifth and seventh innings.

Biola scored their run in the third inning. Singles by Kamryn Guthrie, Jackie Ibarra and Makayla Jordan loaded the bases. Kendall Nakano would execute some situational hitting, supplying a sacrifice fly that was BU's only run of the game.

Kayla Bousquette threw the entire game for Biola. The Junior allowed four runs to score and gave up eight hits. She also threw four strikeouts against the Nighthawks.

The Eagles are 2-4 overall and play next on Friday, Feb. 7 at 12 and 2 p.m. against nationally-ranked No. 15 Cal State Dominguez Hills.
