February 26, 2025

VISTA, Calif. --- On Wednesday, the WWPA conference offices announced Veralie Naranjo as the WWPA Player of the Week. The Biola senior led the offense last week against a litany of top-ranked opponents.

The Eagles took on stiff competition at the Barbara Kalbus Invitational last week. The Biola squad faced the likes of No. 1 USC, No. 10 Arizona State, No. 18 UC Santa Barbara, and RV Pomona Pitzer over a three-day span.

Naranjo sparked the offense for the Eagles, unloading goals in all four contests. The attacker logged a hat trick in each game, totaling 18 goals on the week. Naranjo ended the week with three-straight five goal performances.

Assists came through as well, with five helpers last week. The total ranked second on the team, as Naranjo accumulated 23 points for Biola.

In addition to her offense, the veteran grabbed four steals and two field blocks, while drawing nine exclusions.

The Eagles will be back in action at the Claremont Convergence, kicking off against No. 16 Michigan on Friday at 12:45 pm.
