IRVINE, Calif. --- In the same week of landing his first collegiate hit, Adiel Torres was also named PacWest Player of the Week and NCBWA West Region Player of the Week. The sophomore put together an incredible week with seven hits and three extra-base hits.

Torres and the Eagles picked up three wins last week, knocking off a previously unbeaten Jessup squad. The Biola squad outdid the Warriors 3-1 in the first series between the two teams as PacWest opponents.

The 2025 season saw Torres' Biola debut, after he redshirted last year. The kickoff to his collegiate career was a welcome one with Torres landing a triple in his third at bat of the season last Monday for his first career hit.

The next hit of his career was even better, as Torres launched a home run for his second hit. On the week, Torres went 7-11 with two home runs, one double, one triple and 10 RBI. All four games last week featured a hit from Torres, including three-straight two-hit performances.

Through six appearances this season, Torres is already slashing .583/.643/.1.333 in 12 career at bats. 

The Eagles will hit the road for their next series, facing Hawaii Pacific on Saturday at 5:00 pm.
