February 15, 2025

Aliso Viejo, Calif.---The Biola track & field teams opened up their 2025 seasons at the Soka Indoor Qualifier.

"We haven't been to Soka for many years now, it was fun to come back," stated head coach Sean Henning. "It's a really beautiful and peaceful facility. This is a unique track meet as it has a lot of indoor distances that we won't see the rest of the year, and that's the main reason we came. The energy was good among our team, people were cheering for just about every race we were in. It was great to see a few school records broken, one of them by the great Hall of Famer Natasha Jackson (formerly Miller). The coaches did a great job making sure the day ran smoothly and getting the athletes hyped up to start the track season!"

The Eagles hit the ground sprinting, shattering three school records and recording 25 podium finishes - eight of which were first place finishes. Biola swept the podium in two events.

Joshua Widdows had a collegiate debut to remember, breaking two school records. The Freshman began the day with a first place finish and a broken record in the 60m hurdles (8.09) and ended it with another program best  in the 600m run (1:19.41).

Ebose Omofoma also set a record with her first place finish in the 60m hurdles. The Freshman recorded a speedy time of 8.71.

"Breaking three school records today shows the incredible potential of this team," shared associate head coach Justin Johnson. "I'm proud of how our athletes stepped up and competed, but what excites me most is knowing they're hungry to get even better. This is just the beginning of what they can accomplish together."
