LA MIRADA --- On Thursday morning, Gavin McKenzie and Adam LaVoy were named to the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) Division II All-America Team for the first time in their respective careers.
McKenzie put together an all around senior season contributing 49 goals and 19 assists totaling 68 points. He drew a team high 31 exclusions and added 14 steals. In his 2025 campaign, McKenzie was also named to the All-WWPA First Team, WWPA All-Tournament Second Team and received Offensive Player of the Week honors.
"When you think about All-American status, at the division II level, he meets all those standards," said head coach, Jens Cole. "He gets it done on both ends of the pool. His dynamic ability to score and play multiple positions, he's the complete package."
LaVoy anchored Biola's defense in his final season. Lavoy swiped 25 steals over 31 games while adding 22 goals and 18 assists. Following the 2025 season, he was named to the All-WWPA Defensive team and WWPA All-Tournament First Team.
"There aren't a lot of players like Adam, a player who holds himself to a high defensive standard," stated coach Cole. "It was so impressive to see and witness his care for defense. As a coach, it was inspiring. He knew that he would contribute defensively and wasn't going to force anything offensively. He was huge in the conference tournament but without him defensively, we'd be a different team. I'm very excited to see him get honored."
