Back-to-Back Wins to Start the Weekend

Eagles go wire-to-wire in a dominant win over Penn State Behrend

Orange, Calif. --- Biola Men's Water Polo took down Penn State Behrend on Friday by a final score of 18-6, in Allred Aquatics Center. The Eagles had a balanced performance through all four periods, securing their second-straight win to begin play at the Gary Troyer tournament

Nick Murray set the tone early for Biola, netting the first goal of the game. Ivan Tkach and Adam Lavoy both booked a goal, giving the Eagles a 3-2 lead eight minutes in.

Lavoy started the second period with an early goal and added another one minute later. Caleb Hernandez, Gavin McKenzie and Colton Brown all found the back of the net as well, giving Biola a commanding lead at halftime (8-3).  

The final two frames were a scoring fest for BU. In the third, Hernandez, Tkach, McKenzie, Mason Pellens, and Murray all added to the tally. Noah Ryznar, Brandt McBride (twice), Caden Digby and Isaac Demski also each contributed to the total, bringing the final tally to 18 — a season high.

The Eagles won all four sprints, scoring within the first minute of all four periods. Periods two through four were dominated by Biola, scoring five goals in each stanza. Tkach had a season-high four assists and six total points. McKenzie and Lavoy had three goals each. As a team, the Eagles shot .500 with 18 goals on 36 shots. It's the fourth time this season they've shot 50 percent or better
