Nelson Nets Goal in Draw with Jessup

Peyton Nelson scored the Biola women soccer team’s goal in their 1-1 draw with Jessup University.

LA MIRADA---Peyton Nelson scored the Biola women soccer team's goal in their 1-1 draw with Jessup University.

Nelson scored the first goal of the game in the 27th minute, assisted by Taylor Bradshaw. Nelson knocked in her fourth goal of the season and the 20th of her career. Twenty goals ties Nelson for the 10th-most goals in Biola Women's Soccer Program history. Bradshaw, a freshman, recorded the first assist of her collegiate career.

Biola (3-1-4 overall, 0-0-1 PacWest) held the lead into the halftime break but would ultimately lose it as the Warriors (1-4-2, 0-1-2) scored the game-tying goal in the 70th minute.

The Eagles out-shot the Warriors 25-6 with eight shots on-goal to the Warriors' two but were unable to sneak past Jessup's keeper. 

Autum Monty logged 68 minutes in goal against Jessup, recording three saves before Laura Brennan came on in relief and conceded one goal to the Warriors.

Biola will regroup and prepare for their next match on Saturday at 11 a.m. against Menlo at Al Barbour Field.
