LA MIRADA --- Kendall Vandertuig earned PacWest Player of the Week for her lights-out performances during the Eagles' Hawaiʻi road trip.
"Kendall has been such a strong cornerstone for our offense this season," said head coach Brian Failinger. "She's playing at a very high level and we can trust her to put the ball on the floor when we need it. She's a great leader and great player, and her play this year has been a huge inspiration to our team."
Vandertuig, an outside hitter, was unstoppable on the offensive end. She tallied 16 kills on a .414 hitting percentage, which boosted the Eagles to a clean sweep over Chaminade, their first win against the Silverswords since 2021.
She followed that outing with another dominant performance, this time against Hawaiʻi Pacific. Vandertuig added 15 kills on a .250 clip, sweeping the Sharks and giving Biola their first two conference road wins.
Overall, Vandertuig accumulated 31 kills, averaging 5.17 kills per set. Defensively, she totaled 21 digs and five blocks, adding to her already complete resume. This marks Vandertuig's first PacWest Player of the Week honors of her career.
Vandertuig and the Eagles will play in Chase Gymnasium on Friday, Oct. 17th, against Jessup at 5 p.m.
