LA MIRADA --- The Biola Baseball coaching staff got to work during the offseason as they recruited 21 new student-athletes for the upcoming 2025 campaign. The Eagles are set to open their season at home, January 31 with a doubleheader against Northwest Nazarene.

The 21 newcomers include a good blend of nine collegiate transfers and 12 freshmen who are new to college baseball. 

"We are really excited about our incoming class," said Head Coach Jesse Rodgers. "We addressed needs of depth on the mound as well as replaced some key guys on the offensive side. Our staff and players feel like we had the best fall since I have been the head coach and we are really excited to keep working this spring."

A large recruiting class follows a large graduating class, as the Eagles lost nearly half its team from 2024. 

Biola baseball was a tick outside of the PacWest tournament last year, coming in sixth with a conference record of 12-19. Throughout the season, the team was able to pick up a few key victories, posting four wins against ranked opponents.

With 17 of the 21 newcomers being California natives, the Eagles look forward to playing a new season with 30 games at home.

2025 Newcomers: 

Dylan Alanis
Coach Rodgers: Dylan comes in from Chaffey College where he got healthy last season. He has an electric arsenal and will be a key back end bullpen guy for us this season.

Nick Brown
Coach Rodgers: Nick comes to us from Allan Hancock and logged a ton of innings over the last two years there. We expect Nick to do the same for us, give us a lot of competent innings and a chance to win when he is on the mound.

Tommy Kendlinger 
Coach Rodgers: Tommy comes to us from Allan Hancock and he really blossomed this summer playing for the Conejo Oaks in the California Collegiate League. Tommy has top end speed, bat speed, and the ability to get the barrel on the baseball. Tommy will impact the game on both sides of the ball and figures to play a big role in our success this season. 

Alex Laureano
Coach Rodgers: Alex comes to us from Glendale CC. He has a strong skill set with his catching abilities and a strong presence at the plate. He has fit right in and will add value to our club this spring. 

Nick Madole
Coach Rodgers: Nick comes to us from Irvine Valley, where he played for his dad. Nick is a strong defender and has some bat speed at the plate. He also makes an impact by sharing his knowledge with our younger guys. 

Josh McAninch
Coach Rodgers: Mac comes to us from Mt. San Jacinto where he put together a strong two years. He has a great presence behind the plate and consistently puts together good at-bats. 

Jack O'Brien
Coach Rodgers: Jack is an accomplished pitcher in the PacWest coming over as a grad transfer from Hawaii Pacific. He is a big time competitor that eats innings and will give us a chance to win each time we hand him the ball. 

Mason Robertson
Coach Rodgers: Mason comes to us from Allan Hancock and has some of the best stuff on our club from the left-side. He will throw  key innings for us and will be a big part of our success this season. 

Jonny TeWinkle
Coach Rodgers: Jonny comes to us from Colorado Christian where he earned a gold glove in the RMAC last season. He also hit .361 with 9 doubles and 9 home runs. Jonny fits right in the middle of the line-up and will make an immediate impact this season.

Luke Ballantyne
Coach Rodgers: Luke had a phenomenal senior season at Ontario Christian, throwing back to back no-hitters last year. He has the stuff and poise to jump into our rotation and be a key piece to our success on the field.

Cam Birmingham
Coach Rodgers: Cam comes to us from a strong program at Aquinas and adds a strong work ethic and winning mentality. He is a great fit and has a bright future.

Taj Brar 
Coach Rodgers: Taj won a CIF title at Hart High last season and is a proven winner. He has a good mix from the left side and will get key outs for us this year and in the future.

Aidan Cube
Coach Rodgers: Aidan is a strong left-handed pitcher from Los Osos. He was limited by injury in his senior season but is fully healthy now. Aidan will get the ball a lot this spring and has the stuff and poise to transition to the college game quickly.

Erick Felix
Coach Rodgers: Erick comes to us from Walnut High. His fastball/breaking ball mix gives him versatility and his work ethic gives him a chance to reach his ceiling. 

John Iacono
Coach Rodgers: John comes from Palisades High where he put together a strong senior season, striking out 91 batters in 56.1 innings. He has electric stuff and will be a key piece of our pitching staff this season.

Ransom Lorenzen
Coach Rodgers: Ransom comes to us from Barlow High in Gresham, OR. He is a young catcher that has made an impact already with his work ethic and team-first attitude. Ransom has a bright future in our program. 

Jack O'Brasky
Coach Rodgers: Jack comes to us as a two-way guy from Arcadia High in Scottsdale, AZ. Jack's stuff on the mound is electric and his athleticism and competitiveness shine through on the offensive side as well. Jack will make an immediate impact on both sides of the ball this season. 

Kyle Rogers
Coach Rodgers: Kyle comes to us from Mission Hills High and is a strong, offensive infielder. He has pop in the bat and a great feel around the bag at 1B. Kyle has a bright future in our program. 

Jacob Talbott
Coach Rodgers: Jacob's high school career at Yorba Linda was derailed by a torn UCL his junior year. He is fully healthy now and is a legitimate two-way threat for us. He is polished on the mound and has a strong feel for his game at the plate. Jacob's best baseball is ahead of him.

Nicholas Whippo
Coach Rodgers: Whip comes to us from Ontario Christian. He is an accomplished catcher that has a strong presence behind the plate and an imposing presence at the plate. He will make an immediate impact on the field for us.

Anthony White
Coach Rodgers: Anthony is a valuable utility guy from King's Academy. He is a strong defender and his left-handed bat makes him a tough out.  Anthony has a bright future in our program.
